During the show, which is hosted by Paul McGuire, viewers can cast their votes for their favourite contestant online at www.CMT.ca or by text message. The winner will be announced at the end of the finale episode.
To become a contestant, candidates sang their hearts out in front of a panel of judges, including country artist Beverley Mahood, plus local radio talents and surprise celebrity guests from each city. One hopeful from each episode was chosen to compete in the finale in Toronto.
As well, Canadians have been given an extra chance to shine this season. One wild card contestant from each city, along with two Karaoke Cyber-Stars selected by viewers through text and online voting at www.CMT.ca, will also compete in the finale. Hopefuls can enter and vote up until Friday, September 19 at 9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT.
