After several silent years, Daryle Singletary has burst back into the Country scene like he was never gone.  With "Straight From The Heart"; his raspy vocals and simple lyrics remind us of his honky tonk beginnings.

Raised in Cairo, Georgia; Daryle grew up singing gospel with his brother and these gospel roots show that they still run deep in "Jesus and Bartenders".

With such old fashioned, traditional country love songs, like the one penned by Hank Cochran, "Miami, My Amy" and that "love lost" theme in "Promises", Daryle reminds us why country lyrics are truly written and sung from the heart and soul.

The song "I Still Sing This Way", is a wonderful spoof; poking a little fun at the "pop" direction some country music has taken, and that Daryle isn"t going to change.  He is hardcore country, with a honky tonk style"ala George Jones, Merle Haggard, with a bit of Randy Travis thrown in the mix.

Can't forget to mention the artists who make this album have a wonderful "Grand Ole Opry" feel; with Rhonda Vincent and Ricky Skaggs helping out on the vocals.

Straight From The Heart is a pure, honky tonk country album; sure to please the hardcore fan and win over of few "new" country fans", a great comeback from a great singer.
