Active Mountain Entertainment announces Paul Brandt and George Canyon have been added to the line up for the 17th Annual Merritt Mountain Music Festival.

PAUL BRANDT headlines Thursday, July 9. Paul Brandt’s name has become synonymous with Alberta, independence, and quality. He is the voice of Country Music in Canada. Since his debut album CALM BEFORE THE STORM, the consequent seven albums including his most recent release RISK,  Paul is the recipient of numerous awards and set this multi-platinum selling artist apart as the most-awarded male Canadian Country Artist in history. Paul’s music and involvement with international aid organizations and support of the military has taken him to Ethiopia, Malawi, Uganda, Chile, Belize, South Korea, Cambodia and Bosnia.  He is passionate about his involvement with the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Samaritan’s Purse and Operation Christmas Child, and Centre Street Church in Calgary.

GEORGE CANYON headlines Sunday, July 12.  George is a country neo-traditionalist par excellence, producing music with a voice that can soar with emotion or linger in heavy bottom-end.  He has had a string of hits, a shelf-full of Junos and is the recipient of many Canadian Country Music awards.  His latest release WHAT I DO includes collaborations with Gary Harrison, Richard Marx, Chad Kroeger (Nickelback), Joey Moi, Chuck Cannon and Crystal Shawanda.  Canyon’s faith and moral strength can be seen in his extra-curricular activities, whether it’s his work on behalf of Juvenile Diabetes, or his support of Canada’s Armed Forces.  He was made an honorary Colonel, by Canadian Defence Minister, Peter MacKay and CDS, General Hillier.
