(TORONTO - May 5, 2009) Johnny Reid’s Dance With Me is certified Platinum, just eight weeks after its March 10, 2009 release. Dance With Me has remained in the top-3 on the Canadian Country Sales Chart, spending three consecutive weeks at No. 1 after the album’s debut, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Dance With Me also remained in the top-10 on the Top 200 Sales Chart for six consecutive weeks after the album’s release.
Dance With Me is Reid’s second album to be certified Platinum in Canada after Kicking Stones. The lead single, “A Woman Like You,” from Reid’s latest effort peaked at No. 2 (BDS Audience Chart) on the Canadian Country radio. Kicking Stones won the Scottish-born Canadian singer/songwriter Canadian Country Music Awards (CCMAs) for Top-Selling Canadian Recording and Top Male Artist in 2008. Reid had three top-10 Canadian Country radio singles, with the runaway hit, “Darlin’,” peaking at No. 3 (Mediabase Country Chart), from his release, Kicking Stones.
Reid recently completed a sold-out nationwide tour in support of Dance With Me. With 24 shows from Regina, SK to Charlottetown, PEI, Reid is not wasting anytime before he hits the country music festival circuit this summer, playing the prestigious Mountainfest in Merritt, BC and Dauphin Countryfest in Dauphin, MB.
