Nashville, TN (May 5, 2009) -- Texas traditionalist Jeff Griffith jumps the bar straight into a redneck mosh pit with his latest single, "Dip Me In Beer." A saloon-swaggering, good-timin' barroom sing-along, the track is sweeping Country airwaves now.
"Dip me in beer and throw me to the drunk chicks what I need is a temporary love fix
A desperate man will do what he has to do
Dip me in beer and throw me to the drunk chicks over the bar into a redneck mosh pit
I got a new foam cologne honey just for you"
Written by Griffith and Hobson Smith, "Dip Me In Beer" is Jeff's songwriting debut. "When we heard this guy actually sayin' that phrase in a Houston bar," Jeff remarks, "we knew we had a great hook." The two wrote the hilarious number in just a few hours, and Griffith immediately added the song to his shows. "Everyone loves it," Griffith says.
Producer Bill Green (Johnny Bush, Toby Keith) took over from there, bringing in super-hot pickers like Alan Kolby on Acoustic and Electric Guitars (Tanya Tucker, Jim Stafford); Bassist Jim Kalson (Paul English, Joe LoCascio); Grammy-nominated drummer Dan Dreeben (Martin Short, Howie Mandell) and Randy Reinhard on Piano and Steel Guitar (Charley Pride, Ray Price). Jeff Griffith, Jr. handled the harmonies, while his brother Calvin pounded the percussion. "Dip Me In Beer" follows Jeff's previous hits: Drinkin' Thing, If It Ain't One Thing It's Another, I'm Your Radio, Holed Up In Some Honky Tonk and Fishin' Forever. Fans will find the new single on Jeff's next CD.
