A triumph over tragedy: Emerson Drive release fourth studio album May 5, 2009

TORONTO: GRAMMY nominees and six-time Canadian Country Music Award (CCMA) winners, Emerson Drive, release their fourth studio album May 5, 2009. Believe, released on Open Road Recordings in Canada, follows up Emerson Drive’s hit album Countrified and their No. 1 U.S. single “Moments.”

Emerson Drive had their fair share of ups and downs since front man Brad Mates’ early days in country music back home in Grande Prairie, Alberta. From losing a record deal, to tragically losing a former band member to suicide in 2007, Emerson Drive courageously carry on with their latest release, Believe. Even before the album hits stores, the title track and first single, “Believe,” climbs the top-20 on Canadian Country radio after only two weeks.

“This is the album that will define Emerson Drive from this point on,” says Mates. “I think you can hear in each song the fact that we’re at a very comfortable place in our career when it comes to knowing who we are as a band.”

Produced by Josh Leo and Teddy Gentry of the legendary country band Alabama, Believe showcases all of the elements that fueled the band’s steady rise to the top of the country music ranks and solidify Emerson Drive as one of country music’s must-see live acts. With Believe it is clear that Brad Mates (vocals), Danick Dupelle (guitar), Dale Wallace (keys), David Pichette (fiddle) and Mike Melancon (drums) have overcome the personal and professional obstacles that stood in their way.
