Emerson Drive Among 2008 Canadian Country Music Awards Nominees

Nashville, TN-- Nominees for the 2008 Canadian Country Music Awards were announced today, with Emerson Drive among those recognized by the Board of Directors of the CCMA. The band is nominated for “Fans’ Choice Award” and “Group or Duo of the Year.” This makes the band’s seventh consecutive nomination in the “Group or Duo of the Year” category. Additionally, band members Mike Melancon (drums), David Pichette (fiddle), and Dale Wallace (keyboard) are in the running for positions in the 2008 CCMA All-Star Band. Emerson Drive’s management company, Big Ride Management, also received a nomination for “Management Company of the Year.”

Canadian Country Music Association Announces Nominees for Fans' Choice Award

 (Toronto, ON) July 24, 2008 - The Canadian Country Music Association has announced the nominees for the Fans' Choice Award: Paul Brandt, George Canyon, Doc Walker, Emerson Drive and Jessie Farrell.

Beginning Friday, July 25 until Sunday, September 7 at 11:59 EST, the public can vote online at CMT.ca for their choice. The winner will be announced during the CCMA Awards in Winnipeg, Manitoba on September 8, 2008. The show will be broadcast nationally on CBC Television at 8pm with encore broadcasts on CMT.

New Artist Showcase Announced for Country Music Week 2008

(Toronto, ON) July 23, 2008 – The Board of Directors of the Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) announced today the artists chosen to participate in the New Artist Showcase during Country Music Week 2008 (Sept 5-8) in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They include: Emily Adams, Karen Lee Batten, Ridley Bent, Mitch Daigneault, Desert Heat, Jason Greeley, Codie Prevost and Saving Grace.

“The New Artist Showcase is always one of the most highly anticipated events of Country Music Week,” said CCMA Chair Heather Ostertag. “Past participants have included Paul Brandt, Brad Johner and Shania Twain, so you never know when you might be watching Canadian country’s next superstar.”

Prairie Oyster, Brian Ferriman and Wes Montgomery latest inductees

(Toronto, ON) July 10, 2008 – The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) today announced their 2008 inductees into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame. Artists – Prairie Oyster, Builder – Brian Ferriman and Broadcaster, Wes Montgomery. These inductions will take place during Country Music Week 2008 being held in Winnipeg, September 5-8.

“We are thrilled that these three inductees will be taking their rightful place in the Hall of Fame alongside their peers,” said CCMA Hall of Fame Committee Chair Lynne Foster. “Each of these inductees have played a significant role in the development of the Canadian country music industry and are all truly deserving of this distinction.”
